Real-world training. Regional NSW covered.
Red Hammer Training & Safety (formerly GBES Training) delivers nationally accredited high-risk work licences and civil machinery training from Coffs Harbour. Practical, hands-on, and built around what actually happens on site.
Our Story
From Coffs Harbour. For regional NSW.
Red Hammer Training & Safety was born out of a simple observation: too many workers in regional NSW are still driving hours to get a licence that should be available right here at home.
When Jay Divola-Stokes took over GBES Training in 2026, the foundations were already solid — a loyal student base, experienced trainers, and a reputation for practical, no-fluff assessment.
What was missing was the investment, the infrastructure, and the ambition to take it further. That’s what Red Hammer is about. We’re investing in our facility, expanding our course range, and building the kind of training centre that regional businesses and workers can rely on for the long haul — not just a quick tick-the-box licence.
Whether you’re an individual booking your first forklift licence or an employer bringing in a crew for compliance training, we treat your time and your safety with the same respect we’d bring on site.
Where the experience comes from
20+ years on the tools. Not just in a classroom.
Our owner and director, Jay Divola-Stokes, isn’t a career training administrator. He’s spent over two decades working in some of Australia’s most demanding industrial environments — and that shapes every decision we make about how training is delivered.
- Level 3 Rope Access Technician — qualified to work and supervise at height in the most technically demanding environments in the industry
- Advanced Rigger — hands-on experience planning and executing complex lifts across mining, oil and gas, and construction
- HSE Advisor across mining, civil, oil & gas, and heavy industry — the regulatory and safety lens behind everything we teach
- Owner-operator, not absentee — Jay is actively involved in the business, the facility, and the standards we hold our trainers to
Our Values
Practical over Paperwork
We care about whether you can actually do the job safely — not just whether you can pass a multiple-choice test. Every assessment is hands-on, realistic, and relevant.
Built for the Real World
Our training is designed by people who’ve worked on site, not just studied it. The scenarios, the safety culture, and the standards we teach reflect what actually matters in the field.
Respect for Your Time
Clear communication, punctual starts, and a course that doesn’t waste your day. We know workers don’t have time to mess around, and neither do we.
Regional, and Proud of It
We’re here because regional workers deserve the same access to quality training as anyone in a capital city. Coffs Harbour is our home base — and regional NSW is who we serve.

Your licence is the real deal
Some workers get caught out by training providers whose qualifications aren’t properly recognised — leading to licences that aren’t accepted on site. That won’t happen here.
Every High Risk Work Licence we process goes directly to SafeWork NSW. Every Statement of Attainment is issued under a nationally registered RTO. Your qualification will be accepted on any worksite in Australia.
