This half-day course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to enter and work safely in confined spaces. It is suitable for those in operational roles who are required to undertake work in confined spaces as part of their job.

Upon successful completion, participants receive a Statement of Attainment covering three nationally recognised units of competency:

• RIIWHS202E — Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
• MSMPER200 — Work in Accordance with an Issued Permit
• MSMPER205 — Enter Confined Space

Course content includes:

• Legislation relevant to confined space work
• Hazardous atmospheres and substances
• Identifying hazards associated with confined spaces
• Risk management and implementing controls
• Planning and preparing for confined space entry
• Working in and exiting a confined space
• Post-work clean up

Training is held at our Coffs Harbour facility — Unit 5/20 Cook Drive (behind BISCO). Course starts at 8:00am.

• Must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number — register free at usi.gov.au if needed
• Must be able to complete theory and practical assessments with adequate literacy skills
• Comfortable work clothing suitable for practical activities
• Enclosed footwear required — hi-vis gear provided
• Payment required prior to course commencement

• All participants must undertake an assessment after training.
• All participants that successfully complete the assessment will be issued with a statement of attainment. This unit of competency is nationally recognised.
